Aguabana

Sound Designer & Music Composer

Synopsis:

20 years ago, in Havana, people were transformed into fishmen. To restore the city’s peace, you will have to face The BombShells, a Predator Gang. They think that they were made predators for a reason: to sow chaos and fear in the heart of Preys! To put them in their place, work as a team, and use various vehicle modules and weapons fresh from your gang’s garage to win combats and take over the BombShells’ territory!

My work:

At the end of my second year at ISART Digital, I decided to conclude the year with one video game project, so I joined an ongoing project called « Aguabana« . Alongside Gabriel Werner, we served as the two sound designers responsible for the music composition and soundscape of the game.

Within the project, my responsibilities encompassed the following areas:

  • Composing original and interactive music for the exploration and combat phases, aiming to capture the essence and mood of each gameplay experience.
  • Designing cartoonish car engine sounds with variations to add charm and character to the in-game vehicles.
  • Creating impactful and distinct sounds for the different attacks of the characters, ensuring they conveyed the intended strength and intensity.
  • Crafting rich and immersive sound effects for various interactive elements and props within the exploration map, added a sense of depth and engagement to the player’s experience.

Collaborating closely with Gabriel and the development team, we strived to create a cohesive audio experience that enhanced the gameplay and captivated players. Our goal was to deliver a memorable and immersive sonic environment that complemented the visual aesthetics and gameplay mechanics of « Aguabana. »

I take great pride in my contributions to the project, including music composition and sound design. It was an enriching experience that further developed my skills in interactive music composition, sound effects creation, and collaborating within a team.
