Sound Designer & Music Composer
Pitch:
Get set for a silly party game adventure! Pair up with your dinosaur buddy and join a race in which two teams are separated by a rift. Dodge obstacles and disturb your opponents’ progress in this thrilling competition to the top. But beware, they have no mercy!
My work:
This is my final year project at ISART Digital. The game focuses on fast-paced races with teams of two competing against each other. With my colleague Jules Borel we were the two sound designers in charge of the original composition, the creation of the sounds, and the integration into the game engine.
In my role, I focused on the following aspects of the project:
- Integration and design of interactive audio systems to ensure seamless audio playback and synchronization with the gameplay mechanics.
- Mixing both the in-game sound effects and the soundtrack, striking a balance that heightened immersion and maintained clarity.
- Recording and processing diverse voices and crowd sounds to add depth and realism to the game’s atmosphere.
- Designing the unique sound profile for the barrel dodo, a character within the game, to give it a distinct auditory presence.
- Creating sound effects for all the traps in the game and establishing their interactions with other objects, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
- Conducting research and preproduction to develop a comprehensive plan for the audio aspects of the game, ensuring a cohesive and engaging auditory experience.
- Sound design for various videos showcasing the game, including trailers and presentations, to effectively convey the excitement and essence of « Paleo Clash. »
Throughout the project, my collaboration with the development team was crucial to align the audio design with the game’s vision and mechanics. By creating immersive and dynamic soundscapes, we aimed to captivate players and enhance their enjoyment of the racing gameplay.
I take great pride in my contributions to the project, including interactive audio integration, mixing, sound design, and research. This experience further honed my skills in crafting immersive audio experiences for games and effectively communicating the game’s essence through audiovisual presentations.
